ADVANTAGES
Cost & Steel Savings

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars offer the following benefits to the customer.

Lower steel consumption -saving in steel can be as high as 10-24 % over other branded and non-branded bars

Easy working at site due to high weldability and ductility. High weldable property also reduces fabrication time

Saves construction time - pre-welded meshes can be used to eliminate manual binding at site

Superior Product with Consistent Quality

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars are manufactured using genuine Thermex technology and hardware which guarantee consistent strength properties from bar to bar as well as across the length of an individual bar.

Higher Yield Strength Without Compromising On Elongation

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars offer higher yield strength and elongation compared to CTD bars. Unlike other bars, where elongation property is compromised upon for obtaining higher yield strength, Hy-Tuf Thermex bars have higher strength combined with high elongation. This makes Hy-Tuf Thermex ideal for seismic zones 4 & 5.

High Thermal Stability

Unlike CTD bars, Hy-Tuf Thermex bars have a proven record in resisting loss of strength at high temperatures (400-600 deg.C) such as during fires. Thus, they make the ideal choice for chimneys.

Test results on Hy-Tuf Thermex 550 are given below:

  Yield Point Nmm2
Thermex
at 20° C
550
at 600° C
530

Better Corrosion Resistance

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars have better corrosion resistance mainly on account of the absence of surface stresses caused by the cold twisting process in the CTD bars. Moreover a protective oxide film on the bar’s periphery prevents atmospheric corrosion.

Wide Range

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars are available in different strengths; from Thermex 400 to Thermex 550. Higher grades can be manufactured against specific orders.

Better Resistance to Fatigue

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars are approved in Germany and other countries for dynamically stressed structural sections.

High Weldability

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars are produced with proper carbon content and are suitable for all types of welding processes without any special precautions. There is no loss of strength at weld joints & no special precautions such as pre-heating or post-heating are necessary during welding.

High Ductility

Hy Tuf Thermex bars have high elongation values of 16-25% which makes them ideal for earthquake prone areas. This unique ductility property also gives it excellent bendability.

Bond Strength

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars conform to the stipulations of IS-1786/85 and most international standards.

Versatile Process

Versatile process allows alterations of the physical metallurgy of the bars to provide different strengths for the same diameter of the bar.

Resistance to Strain Aging

Hy-Tuf Thermex bars are aging resistant due to their manufacturing process and chemical composition. Comprehensive investigations have shown no tendency to aging embrittlement during welding or during cold deformation of the weld joints.

Unbending Adherence to Quality
Hy-Tuf Thermex bars conform to Indian as well as international quality standards:

  ISO 9001-2002

  Indian IS 176

  German BSt 500 of DIN488
  British Gr.450 of BS 444-1978

Swiss Topar 500S of SIA 162

French Fe E50 of NF A35-016

  American A 615
